How to Use the Bamini to Unicode Converter
Converting takes under a minute. Here is the full workflow and what to do when something looks off.
- Copy your Bamini text from the original document or web page.
- Paste it into the Bamini text box on the Bamini to Unicode converter.
- Select Convert to Unicode. The Tamil appears on the right. Keyboard users can press Ctrl+Enter.
- Review the result. If characters could not be mapped, a note under the buttons lists them.
- Copy Unicode to paste elsewhere, or Download Text to save a .txt file.
- Clear both boxes before the next job.
Large documents
One conversion handles up to 500,000 characters. For longer documents, convert chapter by chapter so problems are easy to trace.
If the output looks wrong
- Check that the source really is Bamini and not TAB, TAM, Vanavil or Unicode.
- Look for mixed English and Tamil text in the same line.
- Make sure you copied text, not an image.
- Tell us about patterns that fail through the contact page.
