About Tamil Text Tools

A small set of Tamil text utilities, starting with a Bamini to Unicode converter.

The problem

Decades of Tamil writing were produced in legacy fonts such as Bamini. That text is hard to publish online, search, share on phones or preserve. Converting it to Unicode makes it usable again.

What this site does

It offers a clean converter that works in your browser, with no sign-up and no upload. The conversion table is kept in one readable file so accuracy can be improved as unusual cases are found.

What comes next

Other Tamil font converters and text tools may be added over time. Suggestions are welcome through the contact page.
